Andrea Jean (Sylvestre) Panzarella, 59, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2026.
Andrea was born January 16, 1967, in West Covina, California, to Janet Clara Ennis and Jean Paul Sylvestre. The baby of six children, Andrea went on to attend the University of Maryland, where she earned both an Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree.
Andrea devoted much of her professional life to social work, serving children and families in Colorado, California, and Arizona. Helping others was more than a career for Andrea - it was simply part of who she was. She had a deep need to help the people she encountered and a compassionate heart that made others feel cared for and valued.
Andrea and Leo Panzarella were married on April 11, 2014, after already sharing several years together. Their life was filled with many of the simple things they enjoyed most: good food, hockey, wine, music, dogs, family, friends, and time spent together.
Andrea was compassionate, feisty and funny, and she never really met a stranger. She loved talking to people and could strike up a conversation just about anywhere. She was also an exceptional cook who could prepare a meal like a trained chef. Friends enjoyed gathering at Andrea and Leo's home for dinner, where there was sure to be wonderful food, plenty of conversation and lots of laughter.
Andrea and Leo shared a love of hockey and attended many Ontario Reign games together. Weekends often found them traveling to different wineries for wine tasting, while other evenings were happily spent going out for dinner. Andrea enjoyed a glass of Beringer White Zinfandel and loved listening to Rush. She had a special place in her heart for dogs and most recently welcomed Turbo into her life.
Of all the roles Andrea held throughout her life, one of her most treasured was being "Nana." She adored her grandchildren, took great joy in spoiling them, and treasured being part of their lives. Andrea leaves behind her husband, Leo Panzarella; her children, Cherie (Greg) Bonine, Stephanie Morgan, Paige (Nick) Espe, and Tyler (Savanna) Morgan; and her stepchildren, Mario (Jami) Panzarella, Leo (Vanessa) Panzarella, and Stephanie (Benjamin) Kensa.
She was the much-loved Nana to Izzabella, Cody, Nora Jean, Delihla, Ashton, Genevieve, Mia Lee, Francesca, Samantha and Cassandra. To each of them, she was simply Nana, and she loved them dearly.
Andrea will be remembered for her compassion, her feisty spirit, her humor, her gift for
conversation, and the way she instinctively reached out to help others. Her family and friends will carry with them countless memories made around the dinner table, at hockey games, on winery weekends, and in all of the ordinary moments Andrea had a way of making memorable.
Her absence will be deeply felt, but so will the love, laughter and kindness she gave so freely throughout her life.
