It is with profound sadness and immense love that we share the news of the passing of Ida Louisa Montanez, known to many as simply Ida. Born in Barstow, CA on October 22, 1974, Ida's adventurous spirit and loving heart led her to touch countless lives in her journey. Her spirit left an indelible mark on this world, and her legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
Ida was a force to be reckoned with - a beacon of resilience and determination. She was an outgoing woman who lived her life to the fullest. Renowned for her supportive nature, Ida's generosity knew no bounds. As the office manager in a construction company, she was a hard worker, respected and admired by her peers. Ida was a lover of life, finding joy in cooking, adoring pigs, and enjoying the serene beauty of the lake. However, what mattered most to Ida was her family. As a mother, she was unparalleled. Her love for her son, Brandon Hornback, and her daughters, Adriannah Montanez and Maggie Davis, was boundless and pure. In the words of Maya Angelou, "To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power."
Ida was the beloved sister of Roger Benson and Norma Korinek. She was a loving daughter to her parents, Robert Swearingen and Barbara Kendall, who preceded her in her passage to eternity. Ida was a survivor, emotionally resilient with an impact that resonated with everyone she encountered.
We invite you to remember Ida as the adventurous, loving, and supportive woman she was. Her life was a testament to the fact that "the purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, and to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." (Ralph Waldo Emerson). Please share your memories of Ida and upload your cherished photos to the memorial page as we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived.
