Kelly Demaio

–

Kingman, Arizona

Goodbye

Today we say goodbye to our sister Kelly DeMaio, who was taken far too soon. Kelly had a very private and very brief battle with cancer. Kelly chose to keep her illness private; she did not want people to pity her, see her, or remember her in sickness. She wanted to be remembered Healthy and Happy.

Kelly DeMaio: 7/20/1961 to 08/29/2026

Kelly graduated San Bernardino High School and Chaffey College

For the last 20 years she worked for Walmart corp. She worked for the State of Arizona, tutoring in math, Managed the Family video store, Being a mother and raising her son was her most rewarding job.

She enjoyed making jewelry and other crafts – she loved caring for her rose bushes, most of all she enjoyed being with her best friend of over 20 years Maryjane. They were together almost every day, going shopping or their favorite activity going out to eat and trying new restaurants in Kingman to Bullhead.

Born and raised in California. She moved to Arizona, after she had her son Adam. She lived in Alaska for some time where they enjoyed the continued darkness during the day. They returned to Arizona where Kelly bought a cute house where she could raise her son and grow her roses.

Kelly has friends whom she grew up with and they kept in contact. They talked on the phone a few times a week. We will call them her other sisters. Tami, Capri, Susan and Katherine. She loved them all and looked forward to their phone calls.

Kelly has a big family who loved her and will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her father Bob, Brother Ricky, Stepfather Bud, Grandparents Genny and Frank, Lucile and Harold. Aunts, Uncles: Don, Donna, Frank, Patsy, Harold, Lolly, Tom, Jerry. I am sure they are others we have missed.

She is survived in death by her Son Adam DeMaio and Bailey, their sons Adrew and Colson, Mother Jo Kimball, Brother Tony and Melody DeMaio their daughter Jordyn. Brother Todd DeMaio and his children Travis, Cory and Gabrielle, Boston Sister Teri DeMaio and her son Kevin and Jenna. Sister Nanci Sevellen. Many, many other Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

We mourn the loss but seek comfort in the fact she is no longer in pain.

Kelly was always upbeat, positive, never showing doubt or fear. Never letting her disabilities hold her back.

Always living life on her terms. Being strong and independent, raising her son, making a life and home for her family. She worked long and hard throughout her life, taking on all hardships with grace.

She always had a smile on her face and was glad to see you. She had few but true friends. Kelly was the kind of person that would give you her last dollar if she thought it would help you more than her.

Kelly was involved in a tragic accident at a young age that left her with lifelong disabilities, she never once complained or let her disabilities hold her back, never using them as an excuse. She was always an inspiration showing what someone with disabilities can do, she never let it slow her down or stop her from living life.

Kelly has now joined all her family and friends who have preceded her in death and will be with God and Family.

No services will be held according to her final wishes; her ashes will be spread at the location of her choice at a time to be determined.
