Michael Graffeo

–

Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Michael "Mike" Paul Graffeo was sent to heaven peacefully from his home with his wife,
children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by his side on September 19, 2026.
Mike was born on July 30, 1932, in Boston's North End, a few doors down from Paul
Revere's house. Mike was named after his father’s father which is a Sicilian tradition;
and being Italian, life always included food and family time with Mike's mom, dad, his
sisters Fran and Anna, and his only surviving sibling brother Tony. Growing up in the
North End, Mike belonged to a group of friends known as the & "Elites" on Fleet Street
and also to the Burroughs News Boys Foundation. The young group enjoyed trips
together going to nightclubs and eating good food in Miami Florida, New York, and
Cuba.

Mike first job was on his father's 72-foot trawler named the Michael G, named after
Mike.  Mike's friends called him the "Rabbi" because after being out on the boat for
three days he would have a full black beard.  After a successful trip out on Stellwagen
and Georges Banks, the fish were unloaded at Commercial Wharf in Boston Harbor.
Mike switched careers from fishing (which he hated) to becoming a successful Fuller
Brush Salesman and then a top Cadillac Salesman at Seacrest Motors in Lynn,
Massachusetts. He continued as a General Motors man in Lake Havasu City, working at
Sun Country and Dunton Motors.

Mike met his sweetheart Mary at a dance, and on June 14, 1959, they were married. In
the years ahead they were blessed with three children Alfred, Michael and Amy. Mike
and Mary loved to travel – some locations included: Italy, Hawaii, Istanbul, and several
Alaskan cruises.

In 1978, after the worst snowstorm of the 20th century, the family packed up and moved
to Lake Havasu City. His love of golf was discovered and he formed a great group of
men known as the hackers. Mike became involved in the community right away and
joined the London Bridge Rotary Club in 1979. He participated in the annual special
Olympics event, helped raise funds to benefit the schools and parks, and sold the
famous Rotary Coins every October during London Bridge Days. Mike also became a
member of the Knights of Columbus on October 1, 1979. He was instrumental in
planning and helping with the car show fundraisers, Friday nights Fish Fry during Lent,
and most recently Thursday night Poker games. Mike’s favorite family games were
Connect Four and Rummikub – which he was always very competitive at.

On October 1, 1986, Mike earned his 4th Degree Assembly which is the highest honor
as a Knight, and will always have the distinction as a Lifetime Member.
Mike is survived by the love of his life and "his lady" Mary, his son's: Al Graffeo (Rose),
Michael Graffeo (Priscilla) and daughter, Amy Sugamele (Roger). Mike is also survived
by Six Grandchildren: AJ, Korena, Michael (Crystal), Isaac (Shirley), Tyler and Nicole
(Michael Spaise), Five Great Grandchildren: Josie, Penny, Gigi, Delilah, William James,
his brother Anthony Graffeo (Lin) and many nieces and nephews who he held a special
place in his heart for them.

Mike never dreamed he would be 94 years old but then again "its just a number" as he
would say. Mike's favorite saying is - "As long as you have "Peace, Love and Health"
you have everything".
