With a heavy heart, I want to announce the passing of my father, Shane Nottestad, who was born on June 18, 1966 in sunny Phoenix, AZ, and left us on October 30, 2024 in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that I’ll hold close forever. Shane was a framing carpenter by trade, and though he never sought the spotlight, he built countless homes for others. His work reflected his nature: enduring, dependable, and crafted with unwavering dedication.
Shane had a warmth and humor that could make any day a little brighter. He never took himself too seriously and could always make us laugh, no matter what. To me, he wasn’t just funny; he was the kind of humble, genuine person I’ll always admire and hope to emulate.
He is survived by me, his daughter, Summer Rubio; his sister, Shara Eliasen, and her husband, Chris Eliasen; my husband, Casey Rubio; his dear friend, Nick Elliott, and many nieces and nephews. Shane was preceded in death by his father, Larry Nottestad, his brother, Ty Nottestad, and his grandmother, Marie O'Brien. I find some comfort in imagining they’re together again, sharing stories and laughter like old times.
For all who knew him, Shane left his mark not just in the homes he built but in the hearts he filled with joy and kindness. His laughter and his spirit will live on in those of us who loved him, reminding us not just of what he did, but of who he was.
I love you, Dad, you will truly be missed.
